International friendly match: Luxemburg 0-0 Algeria
The Algerian national football squad failed to impress and tied nil all with the modest national team of Luxemburg in a friendly international match played Wednesday night in the Josy Barthel stadium of Luxemburg.
- This Luxemburg match was in preparation of the two national line-ups for the next official fixtures.
- Sports commentators described Algeria‘s performance on the pitch versus the amateur team of Luxemburg as not satisfying as the Algerian players were unable to score any goals despite their full domination of play notably in the second half.
- Owing to a blatant lack of cohesion and concentration, the Algerian players including Benyamina, Ziani, Boudebouz, Mesloub and Meftah dismally lost golden opportunities to score notably in the last twenty minutes of this friendly game which attracted a large crowd of Algerian supporters settled in Europe.
- The Luxemburg defenders succeeded in annihilating the manifold offensive spurts by the Algerian strikers especially in the second half of the match until the referee’s final whistle.
