Isabelle Seimoune's lawyer to Echorouk: “Cheb Mami's release on parole displeases my client”
Marie Docey, the lawyer of Isabelle Seimoune the former companion of Cheb Mami, told Echorouk that her client bears no grudge against Cheb Mami whose real name is Mohamed Khelifati who remains, she said, the father of her young daughter in spite of all what Mami did to her in terms of harm and wrongdoing.
- However, Seimoune’s lawyer said that even through her client did not question the ruling of justice; she didn’t appreciate the decision to set him free from prison on parole.
- The lawyer indicated in this connection that Cheb Mami had asked from the French justice to release him because he was a father of a little son but he did not even once attempt to look for his small daughter he had with Isabelle Seimoune.
- Her client, she said, found this argument totally contradictory and invalid which did not warrant in her opinion, Mami’s release from prison on parole.
- Isabelle’s lawyer further asserted that her client had struck no financial deal at all with Cheb Mami in exchange for a withdrawal of the legal charges she leveled against him before the French justice.
- She stressed that such reports speaking of a so-called money deal between her and Cheb Mami were utterly false.
- She added that this much-publicized affair had also done a lot of harm to Isabelle’s career as a professional photographer as she is now practically jobless, she said.
