Israeli press praises Egypt, attacks Algeria
Israeli newspapers unanimously attacked the Algerian football squad and praised Egypt after Thursday’s African semi-final match.
- Israeli Channel 2 broadcast a long report about Algeria-Egypt match in Angola. It reflected how the Zionists are envious of Algeria by turning the Pharaohs into national heroes who took revenge.
- The channel broadcast some scenes of the match where the Benin coach Koffi Codjia were brilliant in breaking the record for red and yellow cards against Algeria’s players.
- It also showed Egyptian analysts who gave translated explanations to the Israelis about the “Egyptian saga with the mythical help of the referee. They said the Pharaohs took revenge on Algeria over attacks on Egyptian fans after Sudan’s play-off.
- The Israeli press seized the opportunity to over praise the Pharaohs. “After a two-month fierce war between Egypt and Algeria in Khartoum’s streets, the Pharaohs were able to humiliate the Algerians,” said a newspaper. Egyptian and Israeli media unified against Algeria.
- Israeli newspaper Yediot Ahronot did its job in attacking the Algerians. It said the Egyptians were determined in humiliating Algeria and they did that. It reported details about the match and told how the Egyptians manipulated the Algerians. Yet, it did not mention the referee who showed a red card to three players of Algeria.
- Maariv newspaper did not hesitate to describe the Desert Warriors as “cats.” An Egyptian newspaper liked this description and was proud to report it. It forgot that those “cats” are actually tigers which faced Israel’s army and taught the Egyptian the meaning of sacrificing for the nation.
- The Egyptian press has become the spokesman of its Israeli counterpart. Any neither Algerian nor Arab newspaper has made insulting comments against brother countries.
- The conspiracy ended by a talking about a virtual victory in an attempt to make the Egyptian people forget about their bad living conditions.
