Joint security services have started implementing an anticipative plan ahead of securing the summer season along the coastal line and border crossings.

Customs and different security units will reinforce checkpoints on the border crossings of the country, to anticipate narcotic traffickers, and cut supply sources of terror groups, which are used to increase their activities during this season.

A trustful source said the operation has been started early this week by Customs in coordination with units of National Gendarmerie and Border Guards.

It includes organizing patrols to control the circulation of people and vehicles coming to the country via border crossings.

The source added that the joint security forces have installed additional checkpoints to thwart attempts of smuggling local made goods, including staple foodstuff and fuel, to neighboring countries like Tunisia, Libya, Mali, Niger and Mauritania.

Such smuggling operations are considered among supply sources of terror groups in the Sahel region, the source added.
