Justice minister:Penal codes and criminal procedure sufficient to combat various crimes

ALGIERS- Minister of Justice Tayeb Belaiz said Wednesday penal codes and criminal procedure were sufficient to fight against the different types of crime, including cross-border crime.

At an upper house session to present bills approving the ordinances relating to the lifting of the emergency rule, revision of the criminal procedure code and that on the participation of the People’s National Army (ANP) in public order preservation missions, excluding emergency situations, the minister said the criminal procedure code “is sufficient to impose order and establish security and social peace.”
