The British Interior Minister has yesterday given the go ahead for the extradition of Abdelmomen Khalifa to Algeria as reported by the French News Agency.

This announcement comes as a response to the article issued by the British newspaper “ The Guardian” concerning the alleged threat of assassination against the former Algerian “Mogul” in case of his return to Algeria.

The French News Agency has yesterday relayed the announcement made by the British Interior Minister who asserted that he has given the green light for the extradition of Abdelmoume Khalifa, sentenced in absentia to life by the Algerian authorities, in what has been penned as the “century’s scandal”.

Allen Johnsson’s announcement comes in a total contradiction with the news released by the Guardian and other world News Agencies that reported that the Interior Minister will issue the order next week in accordance with the British law issued in 2003 that requires a total safety for the individual before his extradition.

For her part, Khalifa’s lawyer, Annita Fachiste has decided to appeal against the decision.
