Public prosecution at Blida judicial council is currently preparing to program the Khalifa Bank case that returned after the cassation appeal and was postponed since April 2013, as it was not included in the criminal cases which number is 186, and that will be dealt in the second criminal session of 2014, because it is a complicated case that needs special measures to be programed in the current session, Echorouk sources said.
“Khalifa case will be programed directly after completing the special measures about summoning testimonies, and lawyers in the file and the accused.”
In this context, head of the Lawyers Organization in Blida region, Bouamama Yahia, said in a statement to Echorouk, that “Khalifa Bank” is not a normal case, what made the timing of programming it delayed somewhat. It was supposed to be programmed in the current session, but calls for the parties of the case have not yet been completed. Preparations are continuing to be programmed as soon as possible, and in a special session.
“Public prosecutor at the judicial council of Blida, is aiming to create all favourable conditions for the start of the trial, which may last for more than a month because of the content of the facts, and due to the number of defendants which are 74, and the number of witnesses who are mostly known personalities and former ministers. .In the first trial the hearing sessions for those involved lasted for long time, and noticed exceptional security measures, and all these things require time, making the programming of the issue, since it was postponed on April 2013, delayed”.
