Khalifa to appear in court in autumn
Algeria’s billionaire Abdelmoumene Khalifa is expected to appear in a court in Blida next autumn as 75 people are involved along him in the so-called “Century Scandal,” Echorouk has learnt.
Earlier, Algeria’s justice minister Tayeb Louh said Khalifa’s trial will be held publically.
Khalifa was extradited to Algeria last December. He had been on the run in the UK for 10 years.
In 2007, he received a life sentence in absentia by a court in Blida accused of theft and counterfeiting.
In 2013, the trial was postponed due to legal procedures and the absence of most of witnesses.
A large number of ministers and influent personalities will testify at the court.
