Killer insulin in the Algerian market

Fake Insulin samples have been intruded to the market, central pharmaceutical direction said.

• National pharmacy anthology council and central pharmaceutical direction have notified pharmacies nationwide about fake insulin samples which have been infiltrated to the national market after evading labs and customs control.
• Yet, the foreign insulin lab has denied having introduced Mixtard 30 HM Penfill insulin to the Algerian market.
• Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health and the national pharmaceutical anthology council have opened an investigation to determine the responsible parties of this serious issue. The Ministry of Health has decided also withdrawing, as soon as possible, all the aforementioned insulin quantities from the market, which could expose the life of people with diabetes to danger.
• On another side, the anthology council has launched justice actions against 600 pharmacies not affiliated to the council, and closing down 12 others for marketing hallucinogens without doctor prescriptions.
