Ksentini: Ministers should solve protesters problems or go

President of the Consultative Commission for Human Rights Promotion Faruk Ksentini Tuesday called on ministers to deal wisely with social demands, otherwise they should go.

 

  • “The ministers who failed treating social problems relating to his ministry should go. Officials can not keep holding their positions while they proved that their failure,” Faruk Ksentini told Echorouk.

  • He described the series of protests in the country as a natural or healthy state. “It is the result of long years of silence. Individuals finally found a way to express their concerns and problems. That explains the increasing protests in unexpected way.”

  • Ksentini refused to use violence in transmitting social demands. “It is important to look for efficient solutions for all the presented problems provided that it is done in accordance to the law,” he said.

  • He also said Algerian President Bouteflika’s expected speech would disclose important decisions about deep reforms.

  •  He called on the Algerian interior minister to open a dialogue with the municipal guards who have been protesting for three days.
  •  
  • He believes that the administration and officials should change their way in dealing with people’s demands. “My commission prepared a detailed report about the municipal guards’ bad conditions. It will be submitted to the president.”
  •  
  • “A similar report will be prepared about the situation of repentant terrorists who benefited from the law on the National Reconciliation.”
