Algerian foreign minister Ramtane Lamamra said Algeria coordinates with Arab and foreign nations to face Isis and many countries consult it to counter terrorism.

“We are in a constant dialogue with a number of important nations about the phenomenon,” Lamamra told a press conference.

“Algeria coordinates with most of its partners which are committed to fight terrorism. Algeria requires to unify efforts, to respect national sovereignty and not interfere in domestic affairs,” he added.

He also said that Algeria assesses the situation calmly and believes that there is a need for measures along with a military solution.

“Each time the situation is complicated, there is a need for multi-dimension solutions.”

The foreign minister also said Algeria is an important part in international cooperation against terrorism. It was the pioneer in countering terror and everyone admits its sacrifices and expertise.”

He condemned “horrible terror acts” perpetrated by Isis.

“Isis gives itself a name it does not deserve at all. Islam has nothing to do with this horrible terror attitude,” he said.

Speaking about Libya’s crisis, he said Algeria is ready to host a dialogue between Libyans in conflict to find a final peaceful political solution.
