Lamamra: “Manuel Valls Acted Inappropriately”

French PM, Manuel Valls, published a picture of President Bouteflika, on his Twitter page, but this act is inappropriate, Algeria FM, Ramtane Lamamra, told Echorouk.

“There are red lines that Algeria will not tolerate, and the international community must respecte them in their relationships with Algeria on the basis that Algeria is independent and sovereign.”

Lamamra said about the media controversy that was caused by the image of President Bouteflika with Valls, which he published on his Twitter page, and which revived the debate about the health status of the President, and the French press exploited it; “Whatever the parties which published the picture and the bad intentions that it carried, this act is inappropriate in the international relationships and diplomatic norms.”

“I wonder if Manuel Valls is the person who really published this picture”.

Lamamra did not respond to a Echorouk question about whther Algeria asked for clarification through its diplomatic channels with its French counterpart, or if it received any information that says that the French Prime Minister is not responsible for the publication of the picture, he only said: “Party that published the picture acted inappropriately, and this opposes the international diplomatic norms and traditions.”

He asserted, in a statement to media on the sidelines of a working visit, which led him the Prime Minister, Abdelmalek Sellal, to Constantine (eastern Algeria), on Saturday, regarding the U.S report on corruption and human rights; “There are red lines that should not be bypassed with Algeria. We exercise our sovereignty over our territory, we are a free and independent state, we respect the positions of others, whether they are identical or contrary to our positions and they have to respect our positions.”

Lamamra gave example of the Palestinian cause and said: “We support the Palestinian cause and whatever the positions of other countries on the issue, and whatever they are matching or contrary to our positions, this is their problem is”, without responding to the accusations of the U.S report, Lamamra, simply talked about the red lines that must not be exceeded and putting points on the letters regarding the content of the report on the situation of corruption and human rights in the world, and which showed that Algeria lacks seriousness in implementing the legislation and the provisions that are relating to the fight against corruption.

It is known that Ramtane Lamamra accompanied the ministerial delegation on the backdrop of the need to participate in the conclusion of Constantine Capital of Culture, which was attended by ambassadors from Arab and Foreign countries, as he said that the event has a large diplomatic side.
