Lawyer Ben Brahem to Echorouk: “Human rights activists joined the initiative to criminalize French colonialism”

A lot of Jurists from European and African countries joined the position of the Algerian Organization for Anti-Colonial Thought which criminalizes the French colonialism that terrorized Algerian people criticized the French crimes in Algeria, Head of the Algerian Body for Anti-Colonial Thought, lawyer Fatima Zohra Ben Brahem, told Echorouk.

“Some French lawyers supported the idea of criminalizing France, as part of its history, as efforts to uncover the effects of nuclear tests of French colonialism in Algerian Sahara led to indirect confessions, because the facts that are revealed by the AOACT and some television works and documents, and the remnants of their effects on the Algerians’ health, placed France in trouble that forced the former President Sarkozy to appoint a Jewish lawyer, as a consultant to Algeria’s issues”. 

“Mechanisms to collect physical evidence and testimonies to expose the French colonialism should be searched in accordance with the international law and human rights law. Many Algerians are victims of the French colonialism, and they believe that they are the victims of war, while our situation with France came to defend our country, because we belong to colonialism, and our work begins from here, as hundreds of foreign Jurists highlighted the issues that occurred in Algeria and that are applicable in international law, such as the rape of Algerian women by French soldiers, especially as a lot of them lately admitted that about 90% of women were raped in villages and mountains.”
With regard to Algeria’s archives in France; “French authorities did not reveal this archive, especially after Algeria seeks to detect its crimes during the colonial period. Bloc of Jurists who have allied in order to criminalize the French colonialism will make it recognize and directly, after it recognizes implicitly recognized the nuclear tests in Reguan. Anti-colonial Thought Organizattion will announce on other stages that have not yet been declared, as a partial precaution, especially after it gained a lot of physical evidences.”
Only message that was directed to young people today in the double anniversary of the Soumam Conference and the attack on North Constatnine (eastern Algeria), aims to revive the memory by not forgetting the past and Algerian history, through the constant search for the reality of colonial crimes.
