Libya cancels the entry tax on its territory to Algerians

According to customs sources, Libya would have canceled the tax to enter the territories which was imposed on Algerian during the past two years and which is estimated at 150 euros for each citizen wishing to enter Libya and 100 euros for each vehicle.

According to the same sources, steps have been taken to facilitate movement between the two countries via Debdeb, single border center in the province of Illizi.

In addition, Algerian Director General of Customs, Mohamed Abdou Bouderbala, who is in Illizi since yesterday, is expected to meet his Libyan counterpart in Debdeb before leaving together for Gdames in Libya to discuss the new measures concerning the movement of people and goods .

According to high-level customs sources, the agreement signed yesterday will bring the seat of customs control of the two countries in one place to ease control measures.
The agreement will also focus on information exchange and coordination in the fight against smuggling.

Libya had unilaterally imposed two years ago, a head tax on its territory to Algerians estimated at 150 Euros.
