List Of Arduous Jobs Is Postponed To August 2017

Spokesman for the General Union of Algerian Workers, Chebekh Ferhat, said, in the file of the relative retirement and arduous profession, that the decision in the list of beneficiaries of the insertion in the category of “seriously uphill jobs” is postponed to the year 2017, after it was scheduled before the end of the current year, as part of empowerment of the Committee to take a final decision in the professions that are due to the inclusion in this list, to be fair with federations, knowing that the retirement law will not be postponed and will take effect from next January.

“List of arduous jobs, will be in the form of a regulatory text, that will determine the mode of application of the exceptional procedure, and will not be included in the text of the draft retirement law, which final decision remains in the hands of MPs who would vote for or against it within a few days. This postponement will not adversely affect the process of the operation, especially if we know that pre-retirement will begin in August 2017, which gives enough time for the committee to postpone the decision about the list, with the knowledge that it will be ready by next August, while people who are wishing to take a pre-retirement in 2017, will take advantage of the decision either by the beginning of August 2017, or December, which are annual dates for the application of this kind of procedures”.

“Last meeting of the committee was on October,19, in the presence of representatives from the occupational medicine, and no decision in the fate of any profession was taken yet, but for teachers who are listed after the miners’ category, and workers in the field of chemicals and harmful substances, and night time workers, workers of ports and furnaces”.

“All federations will make reports to the central trade union that is authorized to decide on the file, and the timing will be open to everyone, to avoid the injustice against any class of professional categories”.

In contrast, UGTA representative said the syndicates would propose depriving retirees or beneficiaries of pre-retirement, before the age of sixty years, until the legal age is met, to oblige those who are still able to work more, of not to go out of the departments in order to work in other areas.
