Louiza Hannoune: “Bouteflika neglects protests and does not take immediate actionâ€
Algeria is living a volcanic situation while some officials still use the ostrich policy, Secretary-General of the Labor Party, Louiza Hanoune said here on Tuesday during a press conference at the party’s headquarters.
Louiza Hanoune criticized the plan for economic development saying that it does not cover all the country.
“President Bouteflika’s speech did not carry immediate action. President Bouteflika’s decisions are positive but do not have an immediate impact, which keeps the risk because the country is living a pre-revolution time. I agree with the president’s opinion about preventing any interference by the neighboring countries in Algeria’s interior affairs. He recognized the existence of a political crisis contrary to what the PM Ahmed Ouyahia, and the evidence is the adoption of the lifting of emergency and opening of media. We need an open door for competition”, she added.
“President‘s decision for revising the law on elections ensure fairness of the electoral process. This is a tacit admission that previous elections were not fair. I agree with the resolution to identify cases incompatible with a representative term because that would inevitably lead to the separation of business and finance from parliament. I do not know the content of the amendments of the law for parties and associations. Allocation of specific quotas for women in the elected bodies is interference in the affairs of the parties”, she explained.
