Lucas Alcaraz: “I'm Not Afraid Of Being Fired After Facing Zambia”
National Football Team’s coach, Lucas Alcaraz said the Greens were keen to attend the 2018 World Cup, denying his fear of dismissal.
This came midday Wednesday, during a press conference by the coach Lucas Alcaraz at the National Center of Sidi Moussa.
Lucas Alcaraz added that all his players are aware of the responsibility that is awaiting them, and that he wants to make the Algerian public happy with a victory over Zambia, which gives hope for participation in the 2018 World Cup.
“My pupils had forgotten their positions with their clubs and ignored the rumors that spread in the current summer transfer market, and are more focused than ever against Zambia on Saturday. In a hint to the striker Riad Mehrez, who was very busy this summer by moving to a team other than the English Leicester. Especially since this remarkable player has a great weight and an important role in the national team, and is expected to provide the best performence in the capital Lusaka”.
“I do not care about Nigeria and the Cameroonian guest on Friday because I’m planning to win over Zambia and I do not care what happens at the Ao stadium’s match”, he added.
As for the outcome of the matches against Zambia, he said this may be reflected in his position at the national team’s technical team, that is determined to perform its duties.
It is known that the outcome of the national team against Zambia in Lusaka in Constantine province (capital of eastern Algeria), will clearly show whether the dream of the World Cup Russia 2018 can be embodied or evaporated once and for all.
President Kheireddine Zatchi and Lukas Alcaraz signed a contract, on the month of April, to train the Greens until the 2019 African Nations Cup in Cameroon, which was supposed to be played between January and February, bit will be held between June and July of the same year.
The FAF hired 4 coaches – including Lucas Alcaraz (51 years) – since the end of the World Cup in Brazil in the summer of 2014, which is one of the negative factors for the deterioration of the national team’s results and the decline in its technical level.
