Madjid Bougherra, best Arab soccer player 2010

BEIRUT (Lebanon)- Algerian international defender Madjid Bougherra (Scottish Glasgow Rangers) was elected best Arab soccer player for the second year in a row, in the annual poll conducted by El-Hadath Erriyadhi sport magazine.

The best Algerian athlete 2010, a title awarded to him by APS, got 266 points, ahead of Kuwaiti international striker Badr Al Motawe (233 points) and Egyptian international attacker Mohamed Nadji Jeddou of al Ahly Cairo (206 points).

Bougherra, 28, is the second Algerian player to win Arab Golden Ball Award after Rabah Madjer, 22 years ago.

A total of 151 Arab journalists from seventeen Arab countries took part in the poll.
