Madjid Bougherra named UNICEF goodwill ambassador

ALGIERS- Algerian international and Glasgow Rangers defender Madjid Bougherra has been appointed a goodwill ambassador for UNICEF (United Nations Children's Fund), announced Sunday UNICEF office in Algeria.

A press conference will be organized in this regard on 18 January at 11:00 am at the Hilton hotel in Algiers.

Several footballers are already UNICEF ambassadors, including Argentinean striker of FC Barcelona Lionel Messi, British David Beckham and Algerian football star Rabah Madjer.

Madjid Bougherra was chosen as the best Algerian sportsman for 2010 by the national sports press, following the Brahim-Dahmani survey organized by APS.
