Margin of preference granted to Algerian companies

The government fixed the margin of preference at 25 percent in public deals for Algerian and foreign companies operating under the Algerian law.
- This aims at ending the increasing exports estimated at more than $40 billion and encouraging local production to face foreign competition.
- The government published the new measures in the last edition of the Official Journal on Thursday.
- The government said the margin of preference is granted to enterprises and consultancies who work under the Algerian law and joint groups.
- The margin is given only to companies operating under the Algerian law and of which the Algerian part has the majority share.
- The government said the margin of preference is granted during the evaluation of financial offers from eligible applicants in technical side. This is done in accordance to the choice rules determined in specifications.
- Concerning Algerian- French joint groups, the rate is reduced.
