Minister for Maghreb and African Affairs Abdelkader Messahel Expressed Monday in Rome Algeria’s commitment to working for a permanent seat for Africa at the United Nations Security Council.
- “I seize this opportunity to reaffirm Algeria’s commitment to defend the African common position and to express my conviction that Africa will defend, without ambiguity, this consistent position,” said Messahel at a conference on the Security Council reform. Africa’s common position was part of “our continent’s legitimate aspirations to be part of the major issues related to the establishment of institutions and rules for new global governance”.
