Minister Ould Ali seeks reconciliation between Zatchi and Karbadj

Algeria’s sport minister Hadi Ould Ali this week contacted the president of the Algerian Football Federation Khireddine Zatchi. He asked him to “keep calm” and be rational about conflicts with the president of Football Professional League Mahfoud Karbadj, Echorouk has learnt.

Karbadj was about to “boycott” a meeting held by the Football Federation on Wednesday. Yet, the minister called him and asked him to calm down the situation.

This comes as Ould Ali asked the two men to put their conflict aside and start thinking of the Algerian football future, according to the same sources.

A war of words had broken out between Karbadj and Zatchi as Karbadj did not attend a first meeting of the Football Federation under the presidency of Zatchi.

Karbadj told media that he did not receive any invitation to attend the meeting.
