Khaled Nezzar

The name of retired General Khaled Nezzar, returned to the media scene on Wednesday after he was locked in a dispute with the French air border police at Orly Airport in Paris.

The latter, who was coming from Algiers, did not digest the fact that he hadn’t been allowed to go through the VIP hall at Orly Airport, devoted to diplomatic passport holders, and that he had been kept waiting, unlike the rest of the passengers.

After this incident, General Nezzar published an update on the algériepartiotique.com website, which belongs to his son, and which posted the following statement:

“The retired Army general Khaled Nezzar, traveling in France for personal reasons, was surprised by the undue extent given by some of  national media outlets to an incident altogether very trivial, which took place on arrival, this Tuesday, April 12 at the French air police PAF desk at Orly airport in Paris.

This mishap was due to ignorance on the movement of persons holding a diplomatic passport that was the subject of ambiguity harboured by a French PAF agent.

With the intervention of the police on the spot, the incident was settled immediately in a cordial climate imbued with mutual respect. The retired general Khaled Nezzar thus considers this misunderstanding definitively sealed”.
