This operation enabled to paralyse the activity of an international network for counterfeiting money in different currencies. Two members of them were arrested in the province of Ghardaia (south of Algiers).
Security forces’ move came upon information about a number of people in a suspicious house. They kept watch on the suspects as they had met at night for two weeks. One of them was arrested on his way out of the area carrying money in a bag. Security forces searched the house and arrested two men there.
Investigators identified 15 people led by a dangerous element specialised in electronics. The rest of the network’s elements are on the run. The main suspects were put in temporary prison for counterfeiting national currency and others.
