More than half a million candidates to take BEM exams in Algeria
A total of 528,136 candidates are expected to set for middle school certificate examination (BEM) due to be held on June 5th. The results will be announced on June 28th, 2011.
- The number of independent candidates is estimated at 4,302 while candidates from private school are estimated at 1,719, according to the National Office of Exams.
- The number of exam centres is estimated at 1,855 centres.
- The government allocated 5.1 billion DZ to the operation while 30,000 correctors, 60,000 teachers and 4,000 supervisors will be mobilised.
- In 2010, the BEM exams had a pass rate of 66.35 percent which was the rate is the highest since Algeria gained independence. The exams result marked an increase of 16 percent over 2009.
