In this regard, a U.S based website alleged that military experts from Italy, Britain and France have discovered in Libya several Algerian military vehicles abandoned by pro-Gaddafi fighters.
The website quoted French military experts as saying that after diagnosing the serial numbers of the abandoned vehicles at the French Ministry of Defence’s database, they concluded that they are French made engines sold to Algeria National Army, previously.
Foreign Minister, Mourad Medelci, have recurrently denied any involvement of Algeria in mercenary operation in Libya or any military back up to the Gaddafi pro-forces, as the national transitional council of rebels alleged.
In the phone conversation he held with his French counterpart, Alain Juppe, last Monday, Medelci said “the Libyan transitional council’s charges are untrue, and target involving Algeria in the crisis in Libya.”
On another side, London based Arabic speaking Al Hayat newspaper quoted on Friday the leader of the NTC Abdul Jalil as saying that “the SG of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, Ahmed Jibril cooperate with Gaddafi through sending a thousand Palestinian mercenaries to fight in Libya!”
