Moroccan sources:smuggling transactions from Algeria reach 130b dirham
Moroccan sources said that customs services in Ouejda, active along the borders with Algeria foiled several smuggling operations during the first ten months of the year 2010.
Moroccan statistics, previously published in Echorouk, show that Moroccan smugglers damp Algerian markets with drugs and alcoholics.
Ouejda customs, with less than 70 elements, a clear indicator of the lack of interest in the fight against smuggling, seized over 227
000 liters of fuel smuggled from Algeria, and 100.000 packs of cigarettes of various brands. They also seized 40320 pack of cigarettes smuggled from Algeria, and were on board of a truck in the interior cities.
As for the contraband drugs, they foiled the largest operation of smuggling veterinary drugs during the second week of October 2010, in three separate operations, and booked hundreds of cans of these drugs, worth 84400.00 AED.
