MPs of the National Popular Assembly, who belong to parties like El Mostakbal Front, RCD, and the Algerian Republican Rally called on government to lift the freeze on the project of the Unit for the Production of Crushing Soy in Bejaia (eastern Algiers), which belongs to the businessman Rabrab, and sent a letter of complaint to the Prime Minister, Ahmed Ouyahia, describing all the bureaucratic obstacles which faces the project and that would create 100,000 jobs and that pumps $ 2 billion a year in the state’s budget.
10 MPs took advantage of the discussion of the government’s plan of action to send a letter to the Prime Minister, Ahmed Ouyahia, and called for urgent intervention to lift the bureaucratic obstacles to the establishment of the fifth unit of Civital Complex to crush the oil seeds to produce the soy.
They criticized the actions of the General Directo of Bejaia Port, Djalloul Achour, who prevented the entry of containers that are destined for the unit, which includes special equipment for the project to operate officially, pointing out that the government should provide assistance to investors rather than obstructing their projects, especially in light of the economic circumstances that the country is the country.
They stated that the port’s manager had prevented the Civital complex from embodying this unit on the grounds that it did not have administrative permits and prevented it from entering special equipment.
Correspondents told the prime minister that the financial value of the project will allow the reduction of the import bill of soya, which costs the treasury $ 1.5 billion annually and the collection of $ 600 to 700 million as a result of exports of this product, in addition to the exploitation of the neighboring agricultural land, and creating 100.000 jobs for the population of the region and the neighboring municipalities, confirming that this project receives the attention of the population because of its strategic importance to the country in general and the province of Rabrab in particular.
One of the signatories, Khaled Tazghart, an MP of El Mostakbal Party, addressed the issue during the discussion of the government’s plan of action and accused the General Mnanager of the port of Bejaia of obstructing investors in the region and supporting businessmen at the expense of others, as he went even further, when he confirmed that the official and those ordering him wanted to keep the import of this material as beneficiaries of its import.
It is known that FFS Federation of Bejaia province intervened, since months ago, to put an end to the situation of tension between the owner of CEVITAL, Issad Rabab and the management of the port of Bejaia, as it organized two separate meetings and heard the explanations of the parties, without reaching a satisfactory solution, and immediately after the meeting, the port’s administration seized 53 containers that are belonging to the businessman Issad Rabrab, containing equipment for the unit that the compound intends to build.
