Municipalities draft law will generate thousands jobs countrywide

Several economic experts have revealed to Echourok that the municipalities’ draft law, currently under study in the parliament, comprises several positive points likely to overhaul the economic activities at the local and regional levels.

• The draft law will enable the local authorities to create companies in various sectors of activity ranging from agriculture, to service companies likely to generate wealth and curb unemployment, narrowing thus the regional unbalance and stop domestic exodus.

• The economic expert and parliamentarian Menouar Djaadi has indicated that the draft law will give a considerable degree of latitude for the municipalities to make initiatives aiming at creating jobs locally, noting that the law is designed to draw benefit from the existing potential of each municipality according to its geographical features.

• He further indicated that numerous municipalities can create jobs in the food processing industry, for instance, on account of the agrarian nature of several regions in the country.
