Nadir El Arbawi: “Arab Countries Are Threatened”
Algeria has consistently, and since the beginning of regional crises, warned of the serious consequences on the regional and international peace, security and military approaches, Algeria Ambassador to Egypt and its permanent representative to the Arab League, Nadir El Arbawi, said on Tuesday.
El Aebawi explained, in a speech during the fourth Arab-European ministerial meeting, that is held in Cairo, that Algeria always call upon all the internal, regional and international parties to favor inclusive dialogue and national reconciliation away from any interference in the internal affairs of this brotherly countries to reach a political peaceful compromises.
He spoke about the current situation and the serious developments in the region due to the escalation of violence and armed conflict; ” Brotherly Arab countries are facing multiple and complex risks, and they are exposed to escalating crises, external interference and the proliferation of terrorist groups that threaten their entities and homelands.
“Crisis in Libya needs support of the national dialogue in this brotherly country under the United Nations’ auspices, as it embraces many of the rounds between the Libyan leaders of political parties and the initiative to establish a mechanism of Libyan Dialogue countries”.
He reiterated Algeria’s position about the political solution, comprehensive dialogue and national reconciliation among all Libyan parties with the exception of terrorist groups that are designated by the United Nations.
“Phenomenon of funding terrorism and organized transnational crime in all its forms should be criminalized including the payment of a ransoms”.
“Algeria, which suffered terrorism for a decimal alone, has long warned of the dangers of this criminal phenomenon and pursued under the leadership of President of the Republic, Abdelaziz Bouteflika, a comprehensive strategic political, economic and social dimensions to eliminate this transnational scourge and the fight against extremism”.
“Algeria gives a big importance to intensifying and strengthening cooperation and partnership between Arab and European groups in various areas”.
“Algeria is keen to give cooperation and partnership between the two groups with an increasing amount of concrete content to include economic and development aspects”, referring to the historical, geographical, cultural and social ties between the two countries.
“Algerian approach is not limited to the security dimension only, but it goes beyond it to embrace a broader strategy that takes into account the intellectual and religious aspects, and also to take into account the economic and social dimensions of overlapping and consecration of the values of social justice within the confines of national dialogue and reconciliation.
“Algeria focused in the face of the scourge of terrorism, and eradicating it, on a comprehensive and coherent collective approach with international legitimacy”.
“Palestinian issue comes on top of the current challenges in the light of the continued Israeli occupation in the systematic and repeated attacks against the Palestinian people and its violations of religious sanctity, continuing the settlement policy and denying the peace process and international treaties”.
Al Arbawi and called on the international community, especially the Security Council to assume its historical and legal responsibilities and to force the Israeli occupation to abide by international legitimacy and end the occupation of Palestinian territories, and enable the Palestinian people to establish their independent state with Al Qods as its capital”.
“Among the current challenges, there is the question of migration and humanitarian crisis in the cooperation between Arab and European groups. There must be a strategic dialogue with the European side to deal with this problem and deal with on the basis of shared responsibility and in accordance with the comprehensive perspective of a compromise away from the unilateral security approaches that limit the freedom of movement of persons”.
