Nessma TV targeted by Tunisian public media
The Africa Nations Handball Championship Organizing Committee has prevented the Algerian TV crew from covering the Algeria squads’ matches as well as the training sessions.

The Committee’s members have used the argument that the Tunisian satellite TV channel “ Nessma” has acquired the TV rights and thus the Algerian crew is not allowed to cover the event sparking huge controversy and pushing the Algerian delegation to start tough negotiations with the organizers in order to wrench the permission to cover the Algerian teams’ trainings sessions and side stories.

The Algerian TV crew had to resort to sinuous ways to provide the Algerian viewers, who turned their back somehow on the Tunisian channel after using the conflict between Algeria and Egypt on its own benefit, with the latest coverage of the Algerian training sessions.

The Algerian technical staff has staunchly denounced the Tunisian channel’s attitude and firm decision is due to be taken concerning the post matches interviews with the coach and the players alike, because the channel didn’t agree on any sponsorship deal with the Algerian squads.

No problem with other channels…!

Amazingly, a different treatment has been reserved by the organizing committee to the other channels since they have allowed to different radios and televisions to roam and shoot indoor, as it was the case during the match that opposed the Algeria squad to the Congolese side when Arab and African channels made interviews and shot highlights.

Tunisian public channels set to send a formal request to the highest authorities, including the Prime Minister to intervene before the channel’s owners in a bid to change its policy, reliable sources have revealed to Echourok.
