Netherlands Operator “Gemalto” to produce Algerian e-Passports

Algeria resorted to the Netherlands operator “Gemalto”, global leader of electronic security information, in order to accelerate the production of biometric passports, as authorities changed their destination after five years of betting on a French trader, and after that most of Algerians staid without a biometric passport, under the doubled pressure that faces Algeria by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the International Organization of Civil Aviation, which poses more than a question and a question mark about the authorities’ option on foreign companies that would be the privacy of Algerians, and putting the simplest information at their disposal.

Netherlands operator in digital security, announced that it was chosen by the Bank of Algeria, in order to support the program of the biometric passports, and also in order to increase the pace of production. 
Netherlands official website said that “Gemalto” will provide internet coverage, that is known as “Sils” and its software compact “traval”.
“Algeria will benefit from technologies that will support the capabilities of the advanced production and distribution, what will ensure a widespread of the biometric passport for Algerians. 
“Gemalto embedded Sils and traval software that were validated by the World Organization for Civil Aviation. Algerian side will reduce the costs of issuing e-Passports, which will be characterized by high resistance. 
Statement by the Directorate of Algeria Bank said; “We needed a reliable partner in order to ensure quick distribution of the e-passport for citizens across the entire national territory. “Gemalto” offers a high level service, especially the capabilities of repetition of the production system, what will give us the issuance of the operation across the entire stages.” 
For his part, First Deputy of the company’s Chairman, in charge of government programs, A. Bouzbib, said; “Gemalto will enable the Algerian authorities to achieve their goals in the shortest possible time limits.”
