New Conditions For Manufacturing Cars, Importation Within 80 Days

Industry and Mines Minister, Youssef Yousfi, revealed that the new book of conditions that is regulating the activities of car dealerships will be ready within 80 days maximum, before the end of the current year, and will be considered in all aspects.

“Industry Ministry is currently in consultation with car dealerships, professionals and all partner sectors”.
The Minister added in a statement to “Echorouk” on the sidelines of his presence at the Summer University of the Forum of Heads of Enterprises, on Wednesday, at the Palace of Exhibitions, that the book of conditions this time will study all aspects of car manufacturing in Algeria, and will be accurate in terms of privileges, fees and all the procedures that it will include, so the ministry preferred to wait and take full time, but it will be officially issued before the end of the year, and the remaining  80 days, and will be ready by the beginning of 2018.
“We contacted car dealerships and industry professionals to consult with them and know their opinion on this strategic sector, which the government is counting on very strongly. We will disclose the details of the conditions book in due course”.
“We have involved all parties, not just car dealerships, to be fair in our study of the situation”.
This comes amid negative figures for car dealerships this year, who spent a white season, importing zero vehicles and not even releasing import licenses, knowing that the Minister of Industry and Mines Youcef Yousfi has already justified this by the production of car factories in Algeria, Renault, Hyundai and Volkswagen of 100.000 cars, which is an adequate number to cover the national market demands.
