New draft bill to criminalise colonisation
Colonisation criminalisation draft bill initiators and deputy signers plan to launch a new initiative to revive the bill, Echorouk has learnt from members of Parliament.
- Representative of the National Liberation Front (FLN) Moussa Abdi told Echorouk the initiative supporters started internal communication and coordination to present the draft bill once again.
- He said the presidential alliance parties which have the majority of seats in Parliament held a meeting to decide about the criminalisation of colonisation. “This is a new variant in the Algerian arena though their previous position towards the bill was regrettable. They failed to pass it in Parliament.”
- About a month ago, the initiators agreed on holding a meeting with signers as the law allows re-launching the draft bill after a year since its presentation for the first time.
