New maritime route between Algeria and Barcelona
The National Enterprise of Maritime Transport is expected to open a new route between the Algiers Port and Barcelona and Palma on June 28th until September, according to a release from the European Federation of the Algerians’ Associations.
- Registrations in Barcelona and Palma are underway to open the new maritime route, said the release.
- Algerians living in Spain complain of the high price of travelling tickets. The Enterprise says it is due to the high price of oil fuel.
- The Federation’s chief Nourerdine Belmedah asked transport, energy and finance ministries to reduce tickets price for the Algerian community.
- The Federation complained of the dominance of informal sellers in boats. It said they bring their goods to Algerian in collaboration with customs officers in ports.
- “The Algerians are not allowed to bring their personal belongings while informal businessmen can bring old shoes and clothes,” said the Federation.
