Popular districts in Algiers such as Belcourt, Hamiz and Bourdj Elkifan were the starting point of these protests just after the end of Friday prayer; where anti riots forces interfered to disperse the demonstrators.

Eastern cities also noticed a wave of protests and demonstrations following Friday prayer, especially in Constantine, Setif, Bordj Bouariridj and Annaba.

Citizens in the western cities of the country like Oran, Saida, Mascara and Sidi Bel Abbes, also expressed anger over the rising prices of some products like sugar and oil.
