No car price reduction in the end of the year

President of Accredited Car Dealers’ Association Sofiane Hassnaoui said the end of year special offers are banned as the stock was used up. This is considered as an exception compared to previous years due to cars market difficult conditions.

“The current cars market conditions impose those prices although they are said to be too expensive and overstated,” Hassnaoui told Echorouk.

He added that the prices will not be raised. “If we experience the same conditions in 2017, car dealers will not take any measure to raise prices.”

Speaking about cars quota 2017, he said it will be determined upon the choice of a joint ministerial commission. It will include representatives of commerce, industry, agriculture and finance ministries as well as customs and the Bank of Algeria.

“The quota will be announced after passing the Financial Act of the next year in an official way.”
