Foreign civil planes governed by civil aviation rules need no longer an overflight and technical stop permission to cross and land in Algerian airports, a Transport Ministry source said Sunday.

  • To ensure compliance with international commitments, Algeria has decided to abrogate article 89 of the law laying down the general rules relating to civil aviation, and which required that foreign civil aircrafts get an overflight and technical stop permission to cross and land in Algeria.
  •
  • However, foreign aircrafts are still subject to overflight permission, according to the executive decree laying down overflight rules published in the Official Journal No. 50.
