No Visa Required To Enter Both Algeria And Russia For Diplomatic Passport Holders

Algeria and Russia have agreed to cancel visas for holders of diplomatic passports, saying that it stems from “the desire to strengthen ties of friendship and further upgrade the existing cooperation between the two countries and to ease the movement of their respective nationals on a mission assignment and holding diplomatic passports”.
The agreement signed between the two countries, which was published in the latest issue of the Official Gazette, states that nationals of one of the two parties holding diplomatic passports or being on a mission assignment are authorized in the territory of the other State Party without a visa and may enter, transit, for a period not exceeding 90 days, from the date of receipt for a whole period of 180 days.

In accordance with such a bilateral Convention, nationals of a State of a Party holding diplomatic passports entrusted with a mission are allowed to exercise their functions in a diplomatic mission, consular representative or representatives of their State at international level and may enter the territory of the other State Party, and may transit during the entire period of their devolved mission.
