Omar Rebrab Disavows Hyundai Truck Assembling Project in Algeria!
The Manager of “Hyundai Motors Algeria”, Omar Rebrab, has disavowed and firmly lashed out at the planned construction of the new Batna Hyundai plant to be devoted to the assembling of trucks.
Mr Rebrab stressed that the Koreans had submitted to him this joint partnership in the first place but their trucks didn’t live up to the new specifications, so they decided to shift to another partner.
As a matter of fact, it is this partnership between the Korean vehicle manufacturer “Hyundai” and an Algerian dealer for trucks’ assembling, with on focus a first quota of 2,000 trucks, that Omar Rebrab vehemently denounces, arguing they don’t tally with the new specifications setting the terms and conditions of exercise of new car dealers and their activities as promulgated by the Ministry of Industry and Mines.
According to the latter, after his refusal to accept this dubious partnership, these non-compliant trucks built in Korea, will be dismantled and reassembled in Algeria in the new Batna plant, a ploy to deceive the Algerian government and the Algerian consumers.
And henceforth, Omar Rebrab urged the relevant Algerian authorities to conduct an in-depth investigation into the shadowy case, while stressing that “Hyundai Motors Algeria” is not associated in any way with the projected assembling of trucks in the new plant in Batna (north-eastern Algeria) and which are meant to be marketed in Algeria.
