Over 4320 French-Algerian Mixed Marriages in 2015
French consulate in Algeria recorded until November 30, 2015, over 4320 cases of a mixed marriages between Algerians and French, as the number rises since 4 years to more than 24.000 mixed marriages, while the Consulate of France in Algeria approved strict measures in dealing with the requests for files of “mixed marriages”, after they discovered a large fraud operations, especially from the Algerian parties, sources from the consulate told Echorouk.
“Services of recording marriages at the French Consulate in Algeria counted, from January,2, until November 30, 2015, over 4320 mixed marriages, while the figures that were recorded by the same services in 2012 show that there are 8500 mixed marriages, and 3000 Algerian-French mixed marriages in 2013, as the total number reached more than 24.000 marriages in less than 3 years.”
“As for the number of rejected files, they did not exceed 59, due to several reasons like failure to comply with files of documents, and others that are related to the presence of persons that are involved in cases that affect public security through criminal records. VIS system makes sure that marriage certificates are made directly without resorting to the rejection of the file, because it is provided with this type of documents.”
“French embassy in Algiers, according to the same sources, is now investigating in the files of the marriage applications, after discovering fraud and forgery in this context, especially from the Algerian parties, which are working on the transfer of many suspected cases to the security services, either by police or gendarmerie, according to the jurisdiction to conduct a thorough and complete investigation on all cases, before granting them a license to complete the marriage procedures.”
