Over DZD 187 Million Were Lost As Good Loans From The Zakat Fund

Over DZD 187 million disappeared from the Zakat Fund, as they were granted in the form of good loans to youth who did not use them to achieve good results, which forced the religious services to stop these loans, Religious Affairs and Endowments Ministry, Mohamed Issa, said.

“Zakat Fund registered for the first time this year, since its establishment, a sum of DZD 140 million”.

During a press conference, which he held on the sidelines of an evaluation meeting for the Hajj season of 2017, Mohamed Issa, revealed the outcome of the Zakat Fund, which exceeded DZD 140 million, considering this as proof of the credibility of the Zakat Fund., and criticized the loss of DZD 187 million who were for the benefit of youth without any impact on the social level.

“The Hajj season of 2017 is a success by all standards. No loss was recorded among the pilgrims, but they are just cases of illness. Services of pilgrimage should clarify terms such as loss and feeding, which mean providing needs without choosing”.

“Real assessment of the pilgrimage season will be during the next meeting of the government meeting”, praising the efforts that were made by the pilgrimage mission in the holy sites”.

“Saudi Arabia Ministry of Hajj classified Algeria among the top ten countries for good organization of the Hajj for Arab missions”.

Regarding the courtesy visa that was granted by the Saudi authorities to the Algerians and the disruption of the Algerian mission, he said: “These visas are not controlled by us. We will raise our concern to the Joint Ministerial Council to look for a formula to ensure those in the mission and who are in charge of ensuring good conduct of pilgrimage”.

The minister returned to the issue of Saudi dealers who have violated the contracts of agreement with the Algerian party, saying that “Saudi Mutawif, who caused a crisis for Algerian pilgrims, will be brought before the Saudi justice soon”.

Rgarding the assault of the head of religious affairs of the province of Batna on an Algerian pilgrim, the minister said that he is following the case personally, through the investigation committee.
