P.M Ouyahia puts public finances geared to national development under close scrutiny
Prime Minister, Ahmed Ouyahia, has issued a decree enjoining all the ministerial departments with no exception to henceforth scrutinize all the earmarked public finances aimed at ensuring the achievement of national investment projects as part of the new 5-year development plan initiated by the President of the Republic Mr Abdellaziz Bouteflika.

Under this new binding decree, all the cabinet ministers should see to it beforehand that all the financial packages earmarked for the achievement of investment projects in Algeria in all fields of endeavour were to be used properly and diligently in order to ward off any malpractice or other illegal practices such as corruption, bribery or embezzlement.

This policy of total rigour and transparency initiated at the behest of the head of state Mr Abdellaziz Bouteflika is designed to avert any damaging financial blow to the state budget in order to ensure the smooth implementation of the 286 billion dollar worth national development plan devised by the Algerian state for the next five years.
