Services of control at the level of the Commerce Ministry recorded 60,000 interventions since the beginning of the holy month, which resulted in the closure of 700 shops due to fraud in the food sale and marketing of products with expired days, changing the business without a license and price speculation.
These interventions include neighborhood markets, commercial spaces and shops in major cities and rural areas, where agents of control stood over the serious abuses against consumers, like hiding the validity date of some products, and selling food that is quickly perishable under the sun, and the use of oils that are not valid in the preparation of sweets with wide consumption, like dumplings and almond heart, and violating the terms of hygiene and speculation.
For the first time, services of control was provided with modern hardware, that ensures an immediate analysis of oils that are used in cooking sweets that are widely consumed in Ramadan, as well as modern equipment to measure the degree of cold for dairy products and perishables, including fresh meat and frozen meat that were sold in many shops with an illegal way that does not take into account the safety requirements and hygiene, forcing control services to close these shops immediately and punishing the owners with financial penalties of between 50 and 100 thousand dinars.
