The Director of Public Administration and the Secretary General of the Association of the Paris Mosque, Mohamed Louanougui has firmly denied the false accusations contained in a recent French Senate report alleging that Algerian imams secured their job positions on French territory out of so-called “bribery” practices.

He stressed that the recruitment policy as far as Imams are concerned is based on efficiency, skills and proper training, while accusing certain malevolent Algerian circles based in France of being behind this malicious disinformation campaign meant for  sheer destabilization purposes.

Mr Mohamed Louanougui argued in a statement to “Echorouk” that those people who have stoked this disinformation campaign are known to have suspicious links with shadowy French quarters hostile to Algeria and to Islam.

He further deplored the fact that these scuttling persons are ill-intentioned Algerians settled in France, adding that the latter are obviously seeking to discredit Algeria and to undermine the sustained efforts made by Algeria and the Algerian state in the framework of the promotion of the commendable activities of Paris Mosque, as he put it.
