PM Sellal asks Ministers to declare their properties after leaving Government

Office of the Prime Minister, Abdelmalek Sellal, sent last weekend a surprising instruction to new the government ministers and those who were replaced in the last reforms, asking them to declare their properties, so that the files will be converted to the competent authorities to address and study them until they will reach the Supreme Court for safekeeping, in the context of measures that are taken to combat corruption.

Office of the Prime Minister did not wait a long time to close the file of government amendments and to engage in post-change stage, as reliable sources, told Echorouk that the Office of Abdelmalek Sellal, referred a form of two pages to the 15 Ministers who were replaced, asking them to declare their properties.

In contrast another form has been referred to the 11 new Ministers. The most surprising in the case of declaring properties of ministers, is not the procedure itself but the form of declaration and information, as this model is reproduced from the French model of declaring property in the French law, and is a “Plagiat”, or theft of an intellectual idea from a French model, which is irrelevant to the reality of Algeria.

Among the information that the questions of declaration form for the Ministers’ properties, a list of real estate properties and the value of financial assets and cars, jewelry of various kinds.

If these questions seem logical somewhat, what is controversial in the declaration form of properties is the question about another type of property and means of transport which reflect the well-being and standard of living which is far from being accessible to a public official, no matter his position is or the weight of his responsibilities, but if (…) and it comes to steamboats and private aircraft and diamonds which Algerians do not even know.
