Political leader rules out political reforms consultations

The founder of the “ Islah” movement Abdellah Djabellah has yesterday sent a letter to the chairman of the political reforms committee Abdelkader Ben Salah expressing his regrets for not taking part to the consultations for various reasons.

  •

  • Abdellah Djabellah has indicated that he sent a letter to the pres. Bouteflika last March in which he suggested global political reforms through the organization of a national conference designed to discuss these issues and pave the way for  “ the creation of an Algerian democratic state based on the Islamic principles”.

  •

  • The political leader has asserted that the radical reforms advocated by the president Bouteflika require genuine consultations in order to reach the largest consensus possible. But this consensus, he added, will not be possible unless through a national conference.

  •

  • Djabellah has criticized the political consultations conducted by Ben Salah “ because they rely on the forms and neglect the contents”, he said.
