Political party disputes municipalities’ draft law

The political party Movement for Society of Peace ( MSP) has vehemently criticized the endorsement of draft law governing the municipalities and started a legal procedure to abrogate what the dubbed as an “ illegal procedure”.

• In a declaration to Echourouk, the leader of the MSP group at the lower chamber of the parliament, Mohammed Said Boubeker, has indicated ” Our movement will formally challenge the draft law before the Chairman over irregularities registered during vote and we will appeal before the Constitutional Council”.

• For his part the member of the parliament from the National Liberation Front ( FLN) Abdelhamid Si Affif has dubbed the MSP’s move as “ Political manoeuvre usually used by this party”.

• However, he has indicated that his party is still “convinced by the presidential coalition because the arguments for this cooperation still stand with the program of the president”.
