President of the Libyan National Reconciliation Government, Faiz Sarradj, will visit Algeria on Monday, in the context of regional and international support for his government, which was announced a few days ago.

The visit coincides with a meeting of the House of Representatives which will discuss the political agreement and consider the subject of the national reconciliation government.
A Libyan diplomat source, told Echorouk, that Serradj visit to Algeria is “official”, which means that it comes at the invitation of the Prime Minister, Abdelmalek Sellal, which is the first since he was chosen to lead the new executive structure, after he scheduled to visit it 10 days ago, but the visit was cancelled at the last moment.
In his official visit, Serradj will be accompanied by his deputy, Moussa al-Kaouni, and they will meet, according to the data, the Prime Minister, Abdelmalek Sellal, and the two Ministers, Ramtane Laamamra and Abdelkader Messahel, to discuss the general situation in Libya after the announcement of the establishment of the new government, which did not receive full support in Libya, after classifying it as an Islamic “Brotherhood” choice, according to opponents of Sarradj, who paid recently visits to a number of the countries that are concerned with the situation in Libya, including Turkey, Tunisia, and Egypt.
In contrast to the disagreement on Serradj Government in Libya, the international community welcomed it, including Algeria which welcomed the formation of a national unity government in Libya, calling it an “important step” that would preserve national unity and support efforts which aim to reach a comprehensive political settlement in this country.
Foreign Affairs Ministry said; “Algeria, which has been calling for a political solution and the formation of a national unity government in Libya, welcomes the formation of this government.”
The statement considered that the formation of consensus government in Libya is an important step to preserve the Libyan national unity and promote reconciliation within the efforts to reach a comprehensive political settlement that responds to the aspirations of the brotherly Libyan people and neighbour in peace, security and well-being.
For his part, Serradj praised what he saw as; “Large efforts that are made by Algeria to help Libya out of the crisis, through providing humanitarian assistance for the benefit of the Libyan people in such difficult circumstances at all levels.”
It is known that Algeria maintained its “positive neutrality” towards the Libyan crisis, and did neither support the National Salvation Government in Tripoli nor the interim government in Dar Baida, in the east of the country, but it received senior officials from both sides, like the President of the General National Congress, Nouri Abou Samhine, and the head of the interim government Abdellah Athanie, and sponsored the UN dialogue rounds, in order to reach a consensus government away from foreign military intervention, which is being prepared for.
