Public employment under the Prime Minister's tutelage

Government decided to join the General Directorate of Public Services to the Prime Minister, through its integration with the General Directorate of Administration, after the President Bouteflika ended the functions of the Ministry of Improving Public Service, which was the last ministry that joined this directorate that make up the nerve that governs annually financial positions that are approved by the government, to record the 17th conversion and placement since its inception early in independence.

Prime minister, Abdelmalek Sellal, made a decision of the Public Service’s Directorate General, which has become without a tutelage after the dissolution of the Ministry of Reform and Improving Public Service, within the last government reshuffle, as Sellal officially decided the integration of the Public Service General Directorate and the General Directorate of the PM Department within one Directorate, as its tutelage automatically reverts to the Prime Ministry.
This decision comes in the wake of the adoption of a series of measures to impart flexibility to the competitions and exams of employment that Sellal relies on, to ensure the implementation of the decisions to be decided by the government and that sometimes collide with the policy of the Public Employment General Directorate, and among the decisions that have remained stuck, despite the written and verbal instructions that were issued by the Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education, the issue of conditioning the LMD graduation’s system with the conditions of participation in competitions employment, which only recognize the certificates of the “classic” system in a number of competitions for employment.
